YouTubers Take Down $65M Scam Ring—FBI Says ‘Not All Heroes Wear Capes!’
Move over, superheroes, the FBI just found its newest crime-fighting duo—Scammer Payback (8.4M subs) and Trilogy Media (1.7M subs). And trust us, this story is WILD.
According to the FBI, a Chinese organized crime group was running a $65 million global scam empire with call centers in India—tricking elderly victims by pretending to be government agents, bankers, or tech support. But guess who helped bust them? Yup, two YouTubers with hidden cameras, burner phones, and nerves of steel.
These creators weren’t just exposing scammers for views—they were collecting evidence, recording shady calls, and even confronting scam bosses face-to-face. One insider clip even shows a scammer sprinting out of an office when caught on camera. Talk about drama!
The FBI didn’t hold back in their praise either. “Not all heroes wear capes—some have YouTube channels,” they said after announcing the arrests. And fans are LOSING it.
For those new to this world:
- Scammer Payback (Pierogi) is known for reverse-hacking scammers and taking over their computers on live streams.
- Trilogy Media (Ashton & Art) go full undercover mode—showing up at scam call centers and confronting fraudsters IRL.
Together, their sting operations gave the FBI enough ammo to bust the fraud ring wide open.
“These guys are doing what the police should’ve done years ago,” one fan tweeted.
“They’re literally Avengers but with laptops,” another joked.
So here’s the million-dollar question: Will this push more YouTubers into vigilante justice? Or is this just the beginning of YouTube vs. global crime? Either way, fans are begging for a Netflix documentary already.
