iPhone 17 Pro Max "Demolished": Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Leaks Confirm Apple Is Already Years Behind

Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra is already humiliating the iPhone 17 Pro Max. New leaks reveal a thinner design, 60W charging, and a processor so powerful it's leaving Apple "years behind."

Just when Apple thought it was safe, Samsung is reportedly preparing a knockout blow that could leave the iPhone 17 Pro Max in the dust. New leaks surrounding the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra reveal a device so powerful and innovative, it’s already making Apple’s latest flagship look like ancient history, with one speed test showing the iPhone being “demolished” and leaving it “years behind.”

The tech world is buzzing with details from Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra leaks, which paint a picture of a device designed to dominate. The full CAD-based renders, published by OnLeaks, confirm a stunning redesign. The S26 Ultra will be thinner at 7.9mm (0.3mm less than the S25 Ultra) with more rounded corners and softer chamfered edges, finally addressing the overly sharp edges of its predecessor. However, the camera bump is a massive 4.5mm, almost double the size, promising a significant wobble when laid flat.

The Return of a King and a Powerhouse Processor

Perhaps the most surprising leak is the S26 Plus comeback. After the S25 Edge underperformed, Samsung is bringing back the Plus variant, giving consumers four S26 options: Pro, Plus, Edge, and Ultra. More options, it seems, are always a good thing.

Under the hood, the S26 lineup is a beast. While the S26 Pro in select regions (Europe and parts of Asia) will feature the Exynos 2600, early Geekbench scores show it surprisingly on par with the new Snapdragon. But the real powerhouses, the S26 Ultra and Edge, will both globally sport the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5—a chip already looking significantly stronger in CPU and GPU performance.

Charging Speeds and Privacy Innovations

Samsung is finally addressing a long-standing complaint with Samsung 60W charging confirmed for the S26 Ultra, a much-needed upgrade from the previous 45W. The S26 Ultra will also debut with Samsung’s AI-powered privacy display, a smart feature that narrows viewing angles to protect sensitive information from prying eyes.

And while Apple used the new M14 display panel in its iPhone 16 Pro, the S26 Ultra’s panel takes it a step further with COE tech, making it thinner, brighter, and more efficient—crucial for battery life, especially since Samsung isn’t bumping the S26 Ultra’s battery capacity this year.

Apple’s Embarrassment: The iPhone 17 Pro Max vs S26 Ultra Showdown

But the most brutal news for Apple comes from a recent PhoneBuff speed test. The S25 Ultra already “demolished” the iPhone 17 Pro Max with a 12-second lead in a 3-minute run. This is particularly embarrassing because the S26 Ultra, with its even more powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, is expected to widen that gap significantly.

“The Ultra always launches in January but uses the latest Snapdragon chip and updated components launching this year,” tech analyst Sal explains. “With the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 already looking significantly stronger in CPU and GPU, the gap in January could make Apple look like it’s playing catch-up for years.”

Samsung is clearly coming for Apple’s crown, and the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra looks like a formidable weapon. With its innovative design, powerhouse performance, and smart features, it’s poised to leave the iPhone 17 Pro Max in its dust.
