MrBeast Hires the Best Minecraft Builders to Create the Deadliest Traps
MrBeast is back with another over-the-top Minecraft challenge — and this time, it’s all about deadly traps. In his latest video, he hired some of the best Minecraft builders in the world to design increasingly dangerous contraptions, each with a hefty price tag ranging from $1 all the way up to $25,000. His friends, including Karl, Chandler, Purpled, and Majd, were tasked with surviving each build — with cash prizes and bragging rights on the line.
The challenge kicked off with a $1 trap, described as so easy that “a baby could survive it.” Surprisingly, it managed to eliminate Majd early on, sparking laughter and competitive energy. Although simple, the group rated it surprisingly well, with scores hovering around 4 to 6 out of 10.
Next came a massive lava-filled castle complete with fireballs, parkour, and pressure plate traps. This $100 build shocked everyone with its scale and difficulty. Players struggled through constant hazards, with Majd barely making it out alive after multiple attempts. The castle’s complexity earned it rave reviews, with some even saying it felt worthy of being a $1,000 trap.
Compared to the impressive $100 build, the $500 island trap felt underwhelming. Despite its setup involving TNT and creepers, the execution didn’t live up to the hype. The group gave it some of the harshest scores of the video, averaging between 3 and 4.
This trap impressed players with multiple paths, parkour sections, and clever mob-based challenges. While some glitches allowed players to outsmart sections of it, the variety of obstacles made it one of the better designs. Ratings averaged around 8 out of 10, putting it just behind the $100 build.
One of the flashiest builds was a giant glass bridge watched over by a massive skeleton statue. The challenge mimicked the iconic Squid Game glass bridge, forcing players to guess the safe path forward. While the design looked stunning, many felt it lacked depth for its $5,000 price tag. The average score came in below expectations, with most giving it between 4 and 6.
The $10,000 “drowning maze” began with TNT raining from the sky and flooding tunnels. While visually massive, the mechanics failed to deliver a truly punishing or engaging trap. Players expected much more difficulty for the price. It ended up receiving some of the lowest ratings, around 2 to 5.
Finally, the builders unveiled a sky base filled with parkour and deadly traps — the most expensive build of the challenge. This trap pushed players to their limits, with multiple rage-inducing falls, slime block jumps, and precision ladder climbs. Despite its difficulty, it was also the most fun for the group, with ratings in the 8 to 9 range.
And the Winner Is…
After tallying the scores, it came down to the $100 Lava Castle and the $25,000 Sky Base. In the end, builder Sebas won the grand prize of $10,000 for the sky base, while Liv, who built the $100 trap, walked away with an unexpected $5,000 bonus for second place.
This video perfectly captured why MrBeast’s Minecraft challenges are so popular — combining high-stakes creativity, hilarious chaos, and unexpected results. What started as a simple $1 trap escalated into a $25,000 sky fortress, proving once again that when it comes to over-the-top gaming content, MrBeast sets the bar higher than anyone else.
