Jimmy Kimmel Unleashes on Trump: “I’m More Popular Than the President!”

Jimmy Kimmel is not holding back. In a hilarious new monologue, the late-night host takes on Donald Trump, and no topic is off-limits.

LOS ANGELES, CA – In a blistering new monologue that has the internet buzzing, late-night host Jimmy Kimmel has unleashed a torrent of jokes and insults at the expense of former President Donald Trump. The comedian, who has never been shy about his disdain for the former president, had a field day with a new poll that shows he is more popular than Trump, and he didn’t stop there.

“I am more popular than the president of the United States,” Kimmel declared, to a roar of applause from his studio audience. “Thank you. Thank you. You know, you remember the guy who keeps saying I have no ratings? Well, that makes two of us.”

The poll, from the respected polling site YouGov, shows that Kimmel has a net favorability rating of plus three, while Trump is at a dismal minus 13. “At this point, finding a toenail in your salad has a seven-point lead over Donald Trump,” Kimmel joked.

But the fun didn’t stop there. Kimmel also took aim at Trump’s bizarre and often incoherent ramblings, including his recent claim that he had predicted the 9/11 attacks. “Please remember I wrote about Osama bin Laden exactly one year ago, one year before he blew up the World Trade Center and I said you got to watch Osama bin Laden,” Trump said in a recent interview. “And the fake news would never let me get away with that statement unless it was true.”

Kimmel was merciless in his takedown of Trump’s claim. “Is he putting Tylenol in his McFlurries now?” he asked. “Everyone knew Bin Laden was a dangerous terrorist in 2000. Are we to believe he was getting intelligence briefings on the set of his Pizza Hut commercials at that time?”

Kimmel also roasted Trump for his desire to have his face on a dollar coin. “Only Donald Trump would shut down the government and say hey let’s mint some money with my big fat head on it,” he said. “The White House press secretary Carolyn Levit with a straight face said she doesn’t know if Trump is aware of this movement to put his face on a dollar coin. I’m sure he has no idea about this idea. That was definitely his idea.”

Kimmel’s monologue was a masterclass in political comedy. It was sharp, it was witty, and it was brutally honest. And it was a reminder that in the age of Trump, sometimes the only thing you can do is laugh.

What do you think of Jimmy Kimmel’s monologue? Do you think he went too far? Or do you think he was just speaking truth to power? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below. And be sure to share this article with your friends. This is a conversation that we all need to be having.
