The Indian influencer scene is on fire! A nasty feud has erupted between three of the country's biggest creators, and it's all because of a viral roast video that's being slammed as "sexist" and "misogynistic."
It all started when Instagram creator Hriday uploaded a roast video targeting Muskan Karya. The video, which has racked up over 40 million views, shows Hriday making some seriously suggestive comments about Muskan's body and how she uses it to get views.
"Many girls have setups like this," Hriday says in the clip, referring to Muskan's filming location. "Why is she going viral? Because there’s a huge difference between having a setup and shaking a setup."
The video immediately sparked outrage, with many viewers calling out Hriday for his "sexist" and "degrading" comments. And it wasn't long before fellow creator Awkward God jumped into the fray.
Awkward God, who is known for her feminist commentary, slammed Hriday for his hypocrisy, pointing out that he frequently posts shirtless photos showing off his "biologically useless male nipples."
"Men never shame male influencers' followers," Awkward God said in a response video. "But women are always the ones shamed."
Hriday has since responded to the backlash, defending his right to "roast" what he considers to be "cringe" content. "I never said I had an issue with women," he said. "I roast the extra stuff, the overacting."
A source close to Muskan Karya tells DeetsDaily, "Muskan is heartbroken. She's been crying for days. She can't believe someone would be so cruel."
An insider from Hriday's camp says, "Hriday is not a misogynist. He's a comedian. People are just too sensitive these days."
The internet is divided over the feud.
One user on Twitter wrote, "Hriday is a pig. He should be de-platformed for his sexist comments."
Another user commented, "Awkward God is a hero for calling him out. We need more women like her in the influencer space."
With both sides digging in their heels, this feud shows no signs of slowing down. Will Hriday apologize for his comments? Or will he double down on his "roast" of Muskan? One thing's for sure: this is one of the messiest influencer feuds we've seen in a long time.
