Gyan Therapy Exposes Airtel's "Unlimited 5G" As A Massive Scam With Hidden 300GB Cap

Airtel's "Unlimited 5G" offer is a massive scam, according to YouTuber Gyan Therapy, who exposed a hidden 300GB cap and misleading terms that have left users feeling betrayed.

“My own data ran out, but this was supposed to be unlimited!” This is the frustrated cry of millions of Airtel users across India, who believed they were enjoying truly “Unlimited 5G” data. But according to a bombshell exposé by popular tech YouTuber Gyan Therapy, that promise is a massive scam, with a hidden 300GB cap buried deep within the terms and conditions.

In a viral video that has sent shockwaves through the telecom industry, Gyan Therapy Airtel meticulously dissects the misleading marketing of Airtel’s 5G offer. What many users thought was a limitless data experience is, in reality, a carefully constructed illusion, designed to keep subscribers from switching to competitors like Jio.

“The issue here is that many people are saying Airtel’s ‘Unlimited 5G’ offer is something of a scam or fraud,” Gyan Therapy states, setting the stage for his investigation. “People were promised unlimited 5G, which should mean that if you’re on a 5G network, your data usage should be unlimited.”

The Investigation: Debunking the “Unlimited” Myth

Gyan Therapy, himself both a Jio and Airtel user, embarked on a rigorous testing process to uncover the truth. He systematically debunked common online theories about the supposed limitations:

  • Daily Limit Doesn’t Apply: He proved that 5G speed isn’t capped by the daily 4G limit, using far more data than the typical 2GB daily allowance.
  • Hotspot Sharing Works: Despite Airtel’s T&C hinting at restrictions, he successfully shared hundreds of gigabytes of data via hotspot.
  • 300GB Limit Can Be Crossed: He even pushed past the rumored Airtel 5G FUP limit of 300GB, using a staggering 145GB in a single day and 343GB total for the month.

So, if these theories were false, where was the catch? The answer, Gyan Therapy discovered, was hidden in plain sight—or rather, in tiny print.

The Hidden Catch: “Commercial Use” After 300GB

Deep inside the Terms & Conditions for recharging within the My Airtel app, Gyan Therapy found the crucial clause. It states that once a user crosses 300GB of data usage, that data will be considered “commercial use.” And as per Airtel’s 5G T&C, if data is used for commercial purposes, they reserve the right to modify or stop the unlimited data.

“You could say there is a 300GB limit, but it’s not being mentioned directly with an asterisk (*), which I think it should be,” Gyan Therapy argues, highlighting the lack of transparency. He points out that users recharging through third-party apps like GPay or PhonePe would never even encounter this crucial disclosure.

The Verdict: Complicated, Inconsistent, and Lacking Transparency

Gyan Therapy’s investigation reveals that the Unlimited 5G data not working complaints are valid. While 300GB is a substantial amount for the average user, calling it “unlimited” without clear disclosure of the cap is fundamentally misleading. Furthermore, he experienced inconsistencies, with his data sometimes stopping even when usage was well below the 300GB mark.

This exposé is a powerful call for telecom transparency India. Gyan Therapy urges viewers to share his video and tag Airtel on Twitter, demanding clarity and honesty from the telecom giant. The solution, he argues, isn’t just switching networks, as quality varies by location, but forcing providers to be transparent with their customers.
